Transport Routes

Bottenvikens Stuveri AB is an important link for the trade industry in the counties of Norr – and Vasterbotten when it comes to transport of goods to and from Europe and the rest of the world. In our ports ships from all over the world are being loaded and unloaded on a daily basis.
More and more are choosing the sea route with its economical and environmental advantages.

 

 

 

 

 

 
 

Bulk Cargo

Bottenvikens Stuveri AB yearly handles 3 000 000 tonnes of bulk cargo. The bulk cargo is dominated by some specific kinds of cargo such as coal, carbonised coal, limestone, metal scrap and so on but the coal is by farm the biggest kind of goods with approximately 1,6 million tonnes a year that is being imported by SSAB in Lulea.

The bulk cargo is usually handled in large volumes without any consideration being taken to the fact that the cargo is brittle. That is why it is common with big effective machines that have a high capacity when handling bulk cargo. It is mainly the Lulea- and Skelleftea districts that handle big amounts of bulk cargo.
 

Pulp and Woodchips

Bottenvikens Stuveri AB is annually handling about 1 000 000 cubic meter of pulpwood and woodchips. It is mainly the Pitea- and Kalix district that handles these goods since they are being used as raw material in the paper factories at these places.

Pulpwood and woodchips are often being handled in big volumes. High capacity is therefore very important. At our disposal we have machines that are specially suited for these tasks.
 

Miscellaneous Cargo

Bottenvikens Stuveri AB handles annually about 400 000 tonnes of miscellaneous cargo. Among other things we handle metals from and to Bolidens Ronnskarsverken, wood pellets to local thermal power stations e ct.
 

Paper and Pulp

Bottenvikens Stuveri AB yearly handles approximately 500 000 tonnes of kraftliner and pulp. It is mainly the Pitea- and Kalix districts that handles kraftliner and paper pulp.

Paper and pulp are goods that are very sensitive of mechanical influence. We are constantly working on trying to eliminate any possible damages that can arise on the cargo. Our quality certification ISO 9001:2000 is one link in this work. 
 

Sawn Wood

Bottenvikens Stuveri AB annually handles 700 000 cubic metres of sawn wood. It is mainly Skelleftea- and Pitea district that handles these goods. Local sawmills in the Norr- and Vasterbotten exports big volumes of quality wood to the continent from our ports.
